THE MUSIC.
The main musical influences for the band members and im sure for most other band members in our age group when we started were such bands as the Black Skull, Glasgow, Pride of the Myle and Blackridge Thistle to name but a few. What all these bands had that alot never was their style and quality, catchy drumming and selection of tunes which rolled together, another thing was that they never tried to sound like anyone else, they all created their own style and sound.

OUR MUSIC IN THE BEGINNING.
When the band started to practise the basic tunes were played like most bands we thought it would be easier beginning with such tunes as the Sash/No Pope, Green Grassy Slopes, No Surrender, tunes like these were easier to learn due to everyone knowing  how the tune went aswell as knowing the words.As the band progressed we learnt a wide selection of tunes, a good example of this is on our first recording which was called "Simply Explosive".

FIRST TUNE ON THE ROAD.
The first ever parade for the Grenadiers was a collection parade which started at the Marshallstown road, walked down through Glenfield around Castlemara, Sunnylands and Woodburn Estates. We didn't have any uniforms as the band was only in the making, we had about 30 tunes on our list, with the tune "DEFENDERS" being the first ever tune the Grenadiers played on the road.
