The band attended their 11th parade of the season in our home town, This is a parade we always look forward to as it is in our town of Carrickfergus. This year seen a big increase in bands and junior orange men attending this parade. There must have been around 20 - 25 bands and hundreds of junior and senior Orange men on parade, the weather was good and we seen a large turnout from the general public. On the playing side we improved big time from the previous nights performance in Rathfriland especially on the return leg of the parade. |
The band got a superb reception in the main street of the town with people shouting encouragement and commenting on how well we were playing. The flute corp played a blinder along with the bass drummers, the drum corps also played alot better on the return leg. Our young cymbal players and drum majors are comming along well, our main drum major wee John has been excellent all season. The colour party are an absolute credit to themselfs and the band with their style and appearance along with their marching and discipline. |
I'd like to thank all the members of the Gren's and our Lodge 553 on making it a brilliant day in our home town and look forward to doing it all again next year. Other bands which i seen playing on the day were Pride of the Bann, The Whiterock, Miller Memorial, Crown Defenders, Carrick Defenders, South East Antrim Defenders, Rising Sons of the Somme, Steeple Defenders, The Onward, Movilla Young Conquerors, Pride of Whiteabbey and King William's True Blues.
