THE PRIDE OF MOTHERWELL -{Maroon is the Colour}
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Officers and Members of the Pride of Motherwell for the hospitality shown to us over the years, we hope this bond of freindship continues for many more years to come in the future.
Since the Ulster Grenadiers have travelled to Scotland we have always stayed in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire. While attending our first Scottish Twelfth with LOL 712 some members struck up a freindship with the Pride of Motherwell F.B. this freindship has grown and grown seeing the two bands travelling back and forth reguarly, this has resulted in some band members building close freindships. We now see band members from both bands visiting each other on a regular basis, some even taking wives and kids. One of our bass drummers now plays the bass drum for the "Pride" as he now lives close to Motherwell and he actually played with both bands on the 12th as we were behind the Pride and he kept coming back and forward as he still cant get enough of the Grens. Before the Grens travelled to Motherwell as a band a few members already had close freinds in that area. There has always been strong links between Carrickfergus, Motherwell and surrounding towns and villages. Other bands and Orangemen from Carrick have visited this part of scotland going back more than 20 years.
