The band attended their fourth parade of the year in Glengormley, the host band Pride of the Hill got an excellent turn out of both bands and public, the atmosphere was electric the hairs on the back of almost every members neck stood up the whole way around the route which i might add was just a perfect size of route the flute corp played the best i had heard in a long time some members have actully said that this was the best they have ever heard. The drum corps played out of their skins literally as they burst one of the heads on the drum which brought us down to five drummers.
When we were passing other bands as a drummer sometimes it is hard hearing the flutes but not tonight it was different all i could hear was our flutes right over the top of other bands. Wee John our Drum Major got what he deserved and that was first place for his skills on the mace pole which is hard to do and he is only a small guy also there is not to many Drum Majors left today who still carry a real mace pole. The band came to the end of the parade at the park and the band played Noel Kinner which was amazing you could tell people liked what they were hearing as they made their way over to the band when the band finished playing and congratulated them on their performance which is a good morale boost for the band.
Several other members of the band had been talking to members from other bands and they also gave positve feed back towards the band saying things like the Gren's are starting to get back on form again were they started which is good to hear from members from other bands.
On behalf of the band i would like to congratulate Pride of the Hill Carnmoney on holding an excellent parade and hope they get the same turn out next year and look forward to seeing them at our parade in September.
