first off you'll need the paint porgram......

you'll also need a sprite sheet and some backgrounds....

when positioning your characters make not to make the bottom line of they're feet isn't in the line on the ground(unless absoulately nessecary) also have more than one type of sprite(example: a moving character with a standing sprite)
