The war between the Guntai and Meshi swept Raiden up when his home was attacked and nearly destroyed in a battle. His family luckily survived relatively unharmed. Raiden joined the Guntai shortly afterward and left to claim his second spirit from the opalescent waters of the Sprit Pond on Kouya. Renix emerged from the waters, bound itself to Raiden, then carried him back to the Guntai’s main base of operations.
Raiden continued his studies as the helped in the war. Quickly becoming a feared adversary amongst the Meshi. Known for sniping Shukun officers with bolts of lighting called from stormy skies and calling forth the destructive forces of nature and his spirits.
Then it happened, the Summoner and her Meshi lead a surprise attack on the Guntai schools. It was a complete rout. Raiden watched from the remaining Guntai base in horror as the Meshi laid waste to all that she saw. A year before he had met Orron and Artimysu Lunetta. He came to know both Artimysu and Orron quite well in the time they were together before the old Summoner's Apprentice, now Master Summoner of Wakusei, swept the Guntai off the face of Wakusei in one fail swoop.
Raiden fled the great battle with Orron bleeding and near death in his arms, promising Artimysu he would get her to safety and keep her away. The last her saw of Artimysu was a silver falcon flying into battle to cover their escape. A day later the surviving Guntai rallied and were completely destroyed.
After the destruction of the Guntai and going into hiding Raiden helped Orron through her time of pain and loss. During this time old feeling resurfaced and he became infatuated with Orron, but, again, never pursued his feelings. Believing it would be taking advantage of her in her current state. In any case this dark time drew them closer together and formed a deep friendship the between them. Together they have begun to rebuild the Guntai and hope that they will go unnoticed by the Meshi until their students are ready to fight.
Special Ability: Raiden has the ability to call forth lighting and thunder at will in any form. Using ball lighting he can fly, in flight is is impossibly fast and agile.
Summon Command: 'Song Witch of the sea, come forth and be with me!' A glowing golden pool appears before Raiden, from it's depths Eriu arises. As she emurges from the pool, gently hugging herself, with her eyes closed, and head bowed she slowly seems to wake up. The pool vanishes once she leaves it's depths, floating two feet above the ground.
Guardian Spirit Name: Eriu the Siren
Guardian Spirit Powers: Song in the Silence: With this command Eriu hums a pleasntly once, drawing in a breath, then unleashes a deafening scream. The power of the scream is immense, all glass shatters, metal bends, and stone breaks. This is a very powerful attack, capable of crippling even the most powerful spirits if caught in the direct path of the scream. The scream can be specifically directed, demolishing everything in its path, or can destroy a area around the spirit. If she uses the area affect then only those holding onto Eriu will be safe. Normally the scream only cripples another spirit and removes it from the fight, though it is more then likely that Raidin makes sure Eriu does not destroy the other spirit.
Siren's Song: With this command Eriu begin's to sing a beautiful haunting melody that fills the air and drifts through the air. The effect is almost instant, other spirits become pacific and appear almost asleep. They no longer obey their masters commands and cannot attack. This affects all Guardian spirits around Eriu, even those of Raiden's allies. This power can work on people or more powerful Guardian spirits if Eriu focus' solely on seducing or passifying them.
Sonnata of Spirits: With this command Eriu sings a short light up beat song, which empowers the Spirit Guardians of those allies with Raiden. The spirits become more powerful the coser they are to their summon being mastered. A fully mastered spirit becomes twice as powerful, tougher, stronger, heals them, and partially replinishes their energies.
Guardian Spirit Appearance: Eriu is a tall regal woman, she wears a long flowing long green evening dress. Her sea green skin is unusually smooth and soft to the touch. Her long sea weed green hair moves and flows as if it were caught in the oceans endless depths, flowing and moving behind her gently. Her ruby eyes glow in a almost distrubing but attractive way. A demur smile always blesses the elegant features, promising secrets and special passions to those who become enticed by her spell song.
Summon Command: "On wings of grace I call forth the winter wind! Renix I ask you please defend!" Raiden raises his hand up and the area around him disappears in a sudden gust of icy wind and snow. The snow and wind sweep out and, since summon is imperfect, Renix appears before Raiden. When his summon is perfected Raiden would appear astride Renix between the spirits great wings.
Guardian Spirit Name: Renix the Griffin
Guardian Spirit Powers: 'Sinos' (Sigh-nos) With this command both Raiden and Renix become enveloped in a sudden and volent ice storm. The sudden and viloent storm grows, inveloping all withing a thirty foot area. Moments later the storm abates, revealing a fusion of man and spirit. From the storm emurges a thirty foot tall 'Spiritual Avatar' clad in shining white armor with great feathered wings. The avatar is incrediably powerful, augmenting Raiden's natural abilities, those of Eriu, and Renix. The Avatar is incrediby tough, strong, and agile. The Avatar can shrink down to twelve feet in height. At full size it can demolish buildings witha single punch of its taloned fist. This transformation is temporary, lasting a half hour at most. Afterward Renix disappears and Raiden is very drained.
'Wendigo's Icey Howl' With this command, or these words in the Sprititual Avatar form, Renix unleashes a howling glae of stinging snow, jagged, ice, and blinding sleet. This area affects a wide area before the Spirit. The snow stings and slows, jagged bits of ice cut and tear, the wind blinds and unbalances, and the sleet freezes upon contact. The gust narrows and focuses the farther out it goes. At its point it has the power of a hurricane. At these speeds the ice shard can peirce and shred flesh and encase others in a thin coating of sleet. Were Rennix perfectly summoned it would cause more damage, however right now it only cuses moderate damage.
Guardian Spirit Appearance: Renix is a large Griffon, nearly twelve feet tall at the shoulder, covered in coal black and snow white feathers and fur. He looks more like a combination of a snow owl and white lynx then a hawk and a lion. Perhaps his most striking feature are his intellegent cobalt eyes, which are almost identical to Raiden's slightly darker eyes.
