Dear Transfans,

I'm certain those of you who are left here have waited for quite a while for a major update of some kind, whether it be with TransformersOnline.com, the main website run by Darrell, or UltimateCybertron, which is what you've been visiting the past several months, run by ShadowBlade and myself.
I know many of you must be very disapointed that the site has made no progress (with the exception of the forum) ever since I put it up here, and I sincerely apologize for that. Some of you simply did not want to voice your displeasure about this, and I thank you for your consideration, but the time has come to seriously consider the future of TransformersOnline and UltimateCybertron.
This upgrade has been many months in the making, not because it was that difficult, but because ShadowBlade and I have had busy scheduals, and we weren't always available to deal with the situations we needed to consult one another with. I personally had a great deal of additions to make for the site that I wanted to surprise you all with at once, but I'd simply be making you wait longer by doing that. So I lowered my immediate goals and made some of the more difficult ones long range goals.
I'd been looking at other Transformer fans sites, especially ones such as the new TransformerSource.net and wondering what it would take for us to get as much stuff and become as popular as them, and one of my answers was this: get more staff. ShadowBlade and I are both in our early 20s', and for people our age, these are busy times. I am currently in search of employment and also going to school, while ShadowBlade has a full time job, plus he often needs to work overtime. We simply can't sustain a site like this on our own.
Thus I propose this to you: ShadowBlade and myself will continue to do what we can for the site, building new sections, trying to keep up with the news and all, if you'll help us. We don't expect each person to take on big responsabilities such as making new pages or anything, just stuff like news, reviews and pictures for the new toy section, reviews and summeries of episodes, suggestions and comments, stories for the fan ficiton section I'm hoping to get running someday, and art for ShadowBlades art section. Whether this site sinks or swims will decide on whether the fans who visit it pitch in and help out. If this works out, some of you may come to have vital roles in UltimateCybertron (and TransformersOnline, if it ever returns). That's what happened with ShadowBlade and myself: We were originally posters in the TransformerOnline forum and were given more responsabilities by Darrell, who made us forum moderators, and then Administrators because of our web abilities, and finally, when TFO went down, we went off on our own to built UltimateCybertron.
I've seen the rate of conversation (which has pretty much been my gauge for measuring site activity) go from new posts apearing every hour or so to having new posts apearing once or twice a week. The site is starving. I don't want to see it go out because we all simply didn't want to get involved.
So, to restate what I think Ultimate Cybertron needs to survive, we need more of you to pitch in and help. Suggestions and comments always have been, and always will be welcome as long as the site exists under our leadership. We need people consistantly sending us news and rumors pertaining to the Transformers, and people willing to expand some of our new sections like the expanded episode section and toy section by submitting reviews. Also, people who have either good media or web skills are more then welcome to become members of our team.
Now I will address what happened to TransformersOnline.com, and any possible future for it. After TFO went down for the last time, ShadowBlade and I were sending numerous E-mails to Darrell, the sites' creator. After not receiving anything until maybe my 3rd E-mail, Darrell contacted me (this was early 2001) and said that the server had gone down, and that he was busy with other projects as well, so he didn't have time immediatly for TFO. He did however tell me that he planned on redoing the site, and opening it at the same time RiD came out (and indeed he did put a image of the RiD logo on the site with a message indicating TFO would return), but he never did repoen TFO again. Communications between Darrell and us broke down, and we havn't heard from him since. I have abaondoned any hope of TFO ever returning, atleast not under Darrells' leadership. As far as I'm concerned, TFO is dead. All that remains is the forum, which we are still using. And that brings me to another topic. The Forum was registered to Darrell, not to ShadowBlade or myself. And while we both do have moderator status there (granted to us by Darrell, meaning we can do things such as delete posts and such), we do not have full authority over the forum. Only Darrell does. Thus ShadowBlade and myself have discussed getting a new forum once or twice. The fact that it isn't registered to us means that if the acount were closed down, there would be nothing we could do. If at all possible, we will transfere all our old posts to the new forum, but there is a very strong possibility that we will have to start from scratch.
Lastly, I want to give a special thanks to all our loyal posters from the forum who stuck with us even though we have made so little progress up until this time. Thanks guys!

Sincerely,

Dinobot
