Album Rate: 3.5 out of 5 Stars

The rap duo The Escarments are out to prove that Trick Daddy & the Slip-N-Slide crew are not the only talent down in Miami. B.E. & Escart come with their new 18 track album on their label, Escarments Hit Makers.

1. Intro

2. Live Life-- this track has a nice laid back, piano laced beat. The Escarments bring a solid flow to the mic in this laid back track in which they tell you live life and have fun. It's a very nice track to open the album up with.

3. Everytime-- this track has that radio friendly sound on the beats and lyrics. It's another decent track that's worth checkin out.

4. High Ride (f/ Lynda)-- this track has a slower R&B feel on the beats. The rappin is more in that laid back style to complement the beats. It's a nice song that's maybe a little too slow for my tastes though.

5. Get This-- this track has another laid back beat with a lot of unnecessary sound effects in the background. The Escarments rap about gettin what they can before someone else gets it. Bumpable track.

6. Good Day-- this track has another R&B feel to the guitar laced beats. The Escarments rap in their laid back style about how today is a better day then yesterday. It reminds me of something that LL Cool J would rap about. Decent track.

7. Do You Want Me-- this track has a midtempo beat that actually sounds a lot faster than it really is because of all the slower beats on the previous tracks. The flows are still in that laid back style though and the track is worth checkin out.

8. Fresh-- this track has that space age pimpin sound with a lot of synthesizers and mixin going on. The verses sound like they were recorded out in space in well with the echos. Not really feelin this one too much.

9. Around Da World-- this track has a decent midtempo beat. The Escarments rap about their women and the hook plays off P. Diddy's "been around the world and ai yi yi..." It's a bumpable track.

10. Signs-- this track has a midtempo beat with all these unnecessary background sound effects that almost sound like sheep. The beats and flows aren't all that tight on this one.

11. Lets Jam-- this track has more of that space age/synthesizer sound with some added horns. The Escarments come with some decent verses and it's a track that you can bump even though it has hints of a booty shakin track.

12. Point Of View-- The Escarments rap about how they see life from their of view and how they gotta keep grindin to make that money. It's an OK track but the beats aren't really that tight.

13. Oh No-- this track has a little bit of a west coast beat to it and the hook sounds like something Nate Dogg would lend his vocals to. The rappin is decent and the track is worth checkin out.

14. Peep-- this track has a nice laid back, midtempo beat. The flows are pretty tight on this one and you can probably sit back and ride to it.

15. Right Now-- this track has a tight little beat that gives it a Dirty South flavor. Nice flows overall on the track as well.

16. All Day Play-- this track has a guitar beat over a bassline. The Escarments rap about eatin a girl out all day and all week long. The track is not that bad but the hook is a little annoying.

17. Swurve-- this track has a midtempo beat that has a bit of east coast flavor to it. The track is more of a party track that feels more like something to dance to than sit back and bump.

18. Hey Ya'll-- this track has that funky guitar sound that is a cross between southern and west coast. The Escarments come with some nice flows on this one and end the album off on a positive note.

Overall, the production by B.E. & Escart are on point. It's unlike what we typically come to stereotype the MIA sound as and that's good. The vocals by the two rappers are kinda similar so after a while the songs start to sound the same and just seem to drag along. Production wise, it's a solid effort but vocally, it didn't hit the same standards.
