Album Rate: 3.75 out of 5 Stars

The GN Players are a group outta Greenwood, Mississippi. The members consist of Slaw Dog, Murt Daddy, and Emcee Skeet. This is their first nationwide release. Production was handled by K-Jack who also makes a guest appearance along with Puerto Rican Pimp and IZA.

1. Intro

2. We Get It Lit-- the song is a get crunk up in the club type song. I thought the beat was kinda dark and laid back for a get buck song but it works. It's an OK song.

3. You Can't Fuck With Us-- the song starts off with the chorus. K-Jack come pretty tight on his verse. Murt is up next and raps about the 2 faced player haters and fakers. Slaw closes the track with a pretty decent verse. It's a pretty good track.

4. They Need They Ass Whooped-- this is an up tempo track. The GN Players tell the story about people that they think need their ass kicked. Slaw sounds pretty tight on his verse. Decent track.

5. Can U Ball With A Player-- the song's got an up tempo beat. The track is basically about gettin with the ladies. Not really feelin this track.

6. Riden South-- this has to be one of my favorite tracks on the album. The song has a got some nice basslines. The singing chorus gives it that laid back, smoke some shit feel. They all come tight on the mic. Very tight track all the way around.

7. Reflect (skit)-- some reminiscing about all the dead homies out there

8. In My Town-- this song is about all the shit that happens down Greenwood. It's a pretty tight track cause they lay down some tight verses.

9. Cut It, Fill It, Stick it-- this song got a nice beat to it. The title can tell you what this song is about. This is another one of the better songs on the album.

10. Gone Do Your Thang-- the song starts off with K-Jack and some chick askin him why GN don't represent for the ladies. This is a dance, shake ya booty type track. The song ain't that bad.

11. Where The Party At-- this song sounds like it samples the group Cameo. The beat kinda has an 80's rock feel to it. I ain't really feelin this one.

12. PST-DDD-- this one got an laid back, head noddin beat to it. K-Jack starts it off and comes pretty tight on the mic. The GN Players come correct as well. Very nice track.

13. Country Pimps-- this is another pretty tight track. They rap about it takes to be a country pimp down in the Mississippi Delta.

14. Get Ya Club On-- another get crunk in the club type track. This song got a real Memphis feel to it the way that they spit their bars. It's an OK track.

15. Freaks-- this is a slower song. Slaw is up first and he lays down an all right track. Murt is up next and sounds pretty good. K-Jack finishes it out. Decent track.

16. Windows Tinted-- this is another tight track that has a real laid back beat and flow to it. Everyone comes tight on this one.

17. Straight Out The SIP-- K-Jack sounds like he's rappin over a loudspeaker (a la P. Diddy) and trades bars while the chant of "we real down here" goes on. Basically an shout out to Mississippi.

18. Players In The Game-- the album ends on one of the tighter songs on the album. The song samples the Oran Juice Jones hit song "Singin In The Rain". Tight track with some tight beats and tight flows.

Overall, the album is not a bad first nationwide effort by The GN Players. The production is a little raw on some of the tracks but the mic skills are there. Slaw and Murt reminded me of Too Short and Pimp C at times on the album by the way they sound and K-Jack kinda reminded me of Trick Daddy. The album has its ups and downs but it's not a bad little CD outta the SIP.
