King Swisha, the self-proclaimed King of the South, hails from Folkston, GA. This CD is on Get Buc Records and features 2 Gun Willy, Big Balla, Tender, Shawn B, Bug Davis, Jamar, & Sherri Sheffield. Production duties were handled by Buc.
1. Intro: The Go Getter-- King Swisha starts off with talkin and reppin Georgia and the entire south. He drops a couple of pretty good verses. I could do without the annoying female background vocals because it's not needed on this track. The beat is pretty good. The song kinda drags on toward the end.
2. Georgia Southern Slang (f/ 2 Gun Willy)-- the beat is pretty nice on this one. 2 Gun Willy starts the song off and drops a decent verse. King Swisha follows and lays it down as well. The song is about how people can't understand and how they hate on the country niggas in GA. Pretty good song.
3. Know I'm Talkin About-- each sentence in the first verse by King Swisha is followed by the words "you know I'm talkin about" and it kinda just drags on. The seond verse has Swisha layin it down on the mic. The song starts out slow but gets better in the middle but it goes back to ending each sentence with "you know.." in the last verse. I think it could have been better if he didn't end each sentence like that and just straight rapped it.
4. King Swisha Party-- this is an uptempo, get crunk type shit. This one had my head noddin. Pretty good track.
5. Show Me What U Got Girl-- the beat on this one got horns over a nice bassline and sounds vaguely familiar but I can't place where I think I heard it before. It has a New Orleans or Miami sound to it. King Swisha flows pretty good on the mic and tellin the girl to shake it. It's more of a dance type track.
6. Let's Go (f/ Tender)-- this has a laid back feel to it and seems like something you can just ride to. Decent track.
7. I'm Dat Nigga (f/ Sherri Sheffield)-- this one starts off with a futuristic/space type beat. King Swisha drops some very solid verses but the female singing almost ruins the song for me. Overall, it's a tight song though.
8. Interlude: Freestyle Who Want Some-- just a short freestyle
9. Pimps, G's, & Hustlers (f/ Tender)-- this is a pretty tight laid back song. Good beat, good tempo, and solid rappin. Tender starts the song off and he lays it down pretty good. King Swisha also comes solid on the track.
10. In Da Club (f/ 2 Gun Willy, Big Balla, & Jamar)-- this track is about what all happens down in the club like gettin your freak on. I'm not really feelin this one.
11. Straight Country-- this one got a solid beat. It's basically showin love to country folks whether they be black, white, or Hispanic and even though they "cornbread fed". Solid track.
12. Strippers Anthem (f/ Big Balla)-- this track is about how they love them girls up in the strip club and how they will do anything for the almighty dollar. The beat kinda sounds like it doesn't go with the song though.
13. Hard To Maintain-- I'm not really feelin this track. It's talking about how the same things will make you act one way and the next time, it'll make you act another (like how you'll laugh and then you'll cry).
14. Thank God (f/ Bug Davis)-- this track is a deep song in which King Swisha thanks God for keepin him on his feet and keepin him on the right path and watchin over him.
15. Skit: Out Of Time
16. Out Of Time (f/ Shawn B)-- this one got a good tempo to the song. King Swisha raps about how he keeps gettin signs that he's runnin out of time after reminiscing about the past. He thinks about quittin smokin weed, marrying his girl, and giving back to those who helped him. The track ends with the sound of a flatline in a hospital.
17. Outro
Overall, King Swisha got some pretty good skills. He kinda reminds me of Eightball by the way he sounds. The beats aren't horrible but the production is really raw though. There are some tracks that sound like the beats are louder than the rappers (like the rappers are in the background) and some tracks where the rappers voices are kinda distorted and you can't hear them clearly. But it's a CD worth checkin out cause it does have some bumpin tracks.
