M1 "Da Shiz'nit" hails from St. Petersburg, FL and is a former member of Southern Faculty. He released his 18 track debut solo album on South Funk Productions after creating a buzz on the streets of Florida with the single "Momma Said". It features Kenny M.O.B., Fraize, Chesco, Fluke, Teddy Smack-a-bitch, & more.
1. Peep It-- just an intro with some talkin
2. My Dick-- this track has that classic old style dirty south beat. M1 raps about how hoes be on their dicks cause they stack cheeze and blow trees. Decent track that you can bump although there's nothing really special about the beat.
3. Conspiracy-- this track starts off with a laid back piano intro beat before the bassline kicks in. M1 raps about the different aspects of living the thug life and then people turning on him. Pretty nice track although I bet it'd be better as one of those slow, reminiscent type track.
4. Joe-- skit about a radio show and some guy named Joe Hate-A-Bitch hatin on M1 because he's overshadowin him
5. On Lock-- this track has a laid back mid tempo beat with some marching band type horns over a bassline along with a bunch of other noises that start to overshadow the rappin. The chanting type noise starts to get annoying after a while.
6. Cereal-- M1 raps a bunch of verses and manages to tie most of the lines to names of different cereals. Too much stuff going on with the beat though that it makes the song annoying to listen to. Otherwise the actual rap is kinda witty.
7. Back In It-- this track is about M1 puttin his back into it when he's fuckin different hoes. It's an all right track.
8. Smoke Session-- this skit is about going to the store and gettin a Swisher, Optimo, or Phillie Blunt and cuttin and fillin it up wit weed.
9. Bounce-- this track actually has a nice little beat that has little beach/island feel to it. It's basically a Florida bounce type track that'll probably get some play up in the clubs.
10. My Brother-- this track has a nice lil mid tempo beat. M1 lays down some nice verses about his brother and about past experiences growing up. Bumpable track.
11. G.A.-- skit about heading out to Georgia. If you listen closely, you can hear the beat to Pastor Troy's "No Mo Play In GA" in the background.
12. We Doin' It-- this track features a beat that seems like it came from an Alfred Hitchcock horror flick. Kenny M.O.B. drops the first verse and comes decent. M1 drops a couple of tight verses as well. One of my favorite tracks on the album.
13. Me-N-This Nigga-- this track starts off with a beeper type sound and then a heavy drumbeat kicks in. This track features Fluke and Don One and they basically rap about different things they do with their niggas. Decent track but it sounds like they are rappin in the background of the beat instead of the beat being more in the background.
14. Rollin-- Teddy Smack-A-Bitch starts this track out and lays down a pretty tight verse. This track has that Georgia sound to it. Bumpable track worth checkin out.
15. Startn' Block-- this track has this beeping (kinda like how it sounds when you hit a touch tone phone) that goes on throughout the song. M1 and Kenny M.O.B. rap about coming up in the world with basically nothin and trying to stay hungry even now. The beeping starts to get on your nerves after a while but it's a nice song nonetheless.
16. What To Do-- this track almost feels like a cross between a club type track and just a laid back track. It's an all right track.
17. That Bitch-- this track has a heavy bass beat to it. M1 raps about fuckin around with this girl and how he's starting to fall in love with her. Bumpable track.
18. Sign Off
Overall, I wasn't really sure what to expect when I got this album but it's a decent album. Definitely one of the better underground albums that I've gotten from a Florida rapper cause you can see he's got some skills on the mic. The beats could use some work though.
