Flutterina is Rebel, aided by powerful Butterfly-wings.

Flutterina is one of the few She-Ra characters to have been given an extensive origin. Interestingly,
she was originally a starving young slave from Sand Valley, one of the most remote regions of Etheria and
one of the few seemingly unaffected by Horde rule. She-Ra came across the girl, then called Small One, after
being captured and imprisoned by Baron Condor, a man who wanted complete control of Sand Valley. Small
One came to free She-Ra, but was knocked unconscious by one of Condor's lethal weapons, so the Princess
of Power took her to Light Hope, who wrapped her in an enchanted cocoon, which revived her, changed her
appearance and gave her nifty new powers and skills to boot. Just as Small One was granted a new life as
Flutterina, the residents of Sand Valley were united and Condor learned a valuable lesson. [

Flutterina may have moved away from Sand Valley after her transformation, though her home is unknown.
After her first battle, she was seen at Castle Bright Moon - and several episodes later, though she did not
appear, a reference was made to her being nearby when Hordak attacked Angella's home. [
79] We don know,
however, that she does not reside in the Whispering Woods, as she herself revealed. [

When looking at Flutterina, especially when she was Small One, it does appear that she is a very young
character and easily the youngest of the Rebels. She looks approximately 16 years old, making her younger
than both Adora, who was 19 by the time Flutterina arrived, and Glimmer, who was around 20. Such a
suggestion can also be back up by her attraction to Kevin, a young boy who had run away from his home
in an early Season Two episode. [

As well as a brand new image, Flutterina received new-found strengths and abilities. Being the human portrayal
of a Butterfly, her first ability to be shown was the concept of flight. Many people underestimate Flutterina, as
flying was indeed her main power, but her wings seem surprisingly powerful - not least for blowing away a load of
clouds with Swift Wind to destroy an evil invention, but also to support the weight of a fully-grown man! [
68]

Flutterina could also summon a hoard or small buttflies to do her bidding - though only touched upon once to
disable a threatening Horde Trooper. [
69]

Perhaps her least memorable ability is her almost unnoticeable talent of transforming into a tiny white butterfly.
Another power showcased but once, this one could have been a useful weapon for Rebel-spying. [
69]

Finally, Flutterina, who seems to be one of the most detailed new characters introduced for the second season,
had an admirer - resident ladies' man Bow. Apparently not content with going after both She-Ra and Adora, Bow
also took a shine to Flutterina. [
68] However, the brief attraction was neve followed up, as Flutterina's future
appearances would be sparse at best.
