Queen Angella is the ruler of Bright Moon, an aiding kingdom to the Rebellion.

Several years prior to the Horde's arrival, Angella, Queen of Bright Moon and her King, Micah,
were blessed with a daughter, whom they named Glimmer. The family were a happy one, until the
arrival of the Horde on Etheria. Micah, seeing the damage they were causing, left to fight them,
leaving Angella and Glimmer to defend for themselves. [
46] However, Bright Moon was soon to
be handed over to Horde rule when Angella disappeared during a battle. She had been captured
by Hunga, leader of the Harpies of Talon Mountain, a sinister creature not allied with Hordak,
but with her own evil intentions. During the period that she was missing, Glimmer formed a
Rebellion with the hope that she would one day see her parents again. It was only when He-Man
and She-Ra released Angella from the spells of Hunga that the two were reunited [
04], leaving
the reunion between husband and wife for later in the series, coincidentally on their wedding
anniversary. [
46] Also, it would seem that Hunga also knew King Micah, indicating a possible
long-running hatred between she and Angella's family.

Angella's ancestors seem to be the magical side of the family, as Micah appeared to be a mere
mortal when he appeared. She was also given the Moonstone, a magical gift from her
ancestors [
41] to power Castle Bright Moon. It is possible that this, along with the light of the
Etherian moons [
22], power Angella, though the complete truth is unknown. However, it is known
that she is completely powerless when away from her castle, leaving her far more vulnerable to
attack [
09], something that never hindered Glimmer.

Angella is seemingly the most powerful of the Rebel leaders, aside from She-Ra. Her own troops
at Bright Moon help fend off any Horde attacks, but when to full power, she is more than a match
for the Horde when alone. Considering this, Angella is blessed with several powers, not
disimilar to her daughter's. Her ability to fly was outlined early on in the series [
04], with Glimmer's
ability to do so being introduced much later. Again like Glimmer, Angella can fire beams of light to
to stun or disable opponents [
05, 67, 88], but unlike Glimmer, Angella can open temporary
portals to other worlds [
24] indicating a far superior power to her daughter's.

Like any mother, Angella was frequently concerned about her daughter's safety when going off to
fight the Horde. [
24, 46, 79] Her reasons are best explained by the following sound clip. [24]
