Sorrowful is the cowardly, but progressingly growing in confidence, Rebel Dragon.

After Bow threw a stone down a disused mine-shaft, previously a storage tank for fuel, an enormous
Dragon was awoken from hibernation and rose to the surface. Thinking the Dragon would only cause
the Rebels trouble, Adora and Bow ran for cover - what they did not know was that this was no
ordinary Dragon. Not only could this Dragon fly, but he also made Kowl look like a fierce warrior and
gave new meaning to the word'cowardly'. In a "Wizard Of Oz" style attempt to get Sorrowful some
courage, his new-found friends took him to Castaspella in the hope that she would have a spell that
would be able to help.

As it happened, none of their efforts could thwart Sorrowful's lack of confidence. She-Ra, however, used a
method of psychology to trick Sorrowful into believing that a magical flower could provide him with all the
courage he desired. When he conquered his fear, and in true cartoon-fashion, the truth was revealed - the
magical flower wasn't magical at all, it was all Sorrowful's work. [

Like Flutterina and Multi-Bot, Sorrowful's origin-episode [12] confusingly comes slightly after his first
appearance. [
10] If, however, the series was to be followed chronologically, the Dragon's discovery of his
courage had no effect on him, as he remained terrified of practically everything. His second (or first,
depending on which way you look at it) appearance saw him confront Catra and prove to her that he was
in fact a force to be reckoned with, especially when it involved his friends. By the time he appeared for
the third time, [
82] Sorrowful's comic and cowardly nature had been abandoned in place of a far more
ferocious-with-the-enemy, but still warm and friendly with the Rebels, persona.

Besides his previous lack of courage, the essence of many of the jokes involving Sorrowful played on
the fact that Sorrowful was at least three times the size of his human-counterparts. Not only was the
Dragon prone to being ticklish, but his tail also proved hazardous, knocking houses and chicken coups
this way and that! [
