| Geology is the study of rocks, minerals, and the physical Earth, including the rocks and the structure of it. There is rougly 540 volcanoes that have erupted throughout the history of the Earth. The largest volcano in the world is Mauna Loa, located at the island of Hawaii, in the Pacific Ocean.The study of volcanoes is volcanology or vulcanology. The Earth is around 4.55 billion years old. The outer layer of the Earth is the Earth's crust, while inside it is the mantle, divided into many areas. The center of the Earth is the core, divided into the inner core and the outer core. The mean density of the Earth is 5.515 times that of water. The study of minerals is mineralogy. |
