The four main types of human blood are A, B, AB, and O. This chart divides out the positive and negative blood type of Americans. The letter denotes the kind of antigen (proteins), found on the surface of red blood cells (A-antigens and B-antigens). O types do not have any antigens. Each blood type is also grouped by its Rhesus factor (Rh factor), either being Rh positive or Rh negative. About 85% of Americans have RH+ blood. |
