Wednesday Evenings

This is going to be the things that make me happy, for whatever reason.  I can't imagine there being too many of them at the moment, but you never know...
SIOUXSIE SIOUX

Its not just Siouxsie (vision of loveliness that she is) but its also her Banshees too.  Damn that is good music.  You can't beat lying back and listening to the pop/goth/punk strains of Happy House or Shadowtime.  I mean, there's just something amazingly haunting about her voice.  They're not my favourite band in the world and neither have they produced my favourite song but I can
always listen to the Banshees.  The Creatures are just weird though.  Although the album cover of Bestiary rocks. ;)
A FAILED GOOGLEWHACK

No pictures, but I found this on an atheist bulletin board thingy.

"Oh, I'm not falling for that one.  God is a notorious prankster, setting people challenges to try to trick them to see if they can read His mind.  He'd ask a father to murder his own son, then stop him at the last minute, praising him for his loyalty.  He'd tell another father to sell his daughters as whores and send him to Hell for refusing.  If God yells, you're supposed to jump, but in which direction?  The marionette master is a psychopath and He is laughing at you.  You might pass the test today, and maybe tomorrow, but can you stand to live under the rule of an arbitrary bastard who keeps testing your adulation of Him day after day after day for a billion billion years?  At least in Hell you'd have a better idea of what tomorrow will bring.  Day One: Torment. Day Two: Torment.  Day Three: Torment.  Makes it easy to keep your Palm Pilot updated."

I don't know why but it really made me laugh.

Hey, looking at this page (the background and picture of Siouxsie) it kind of looks ethereal and fits in with the previous quote.  That makes me happy.
LAUREN LAVERNE

And I didn't even know that anyone else knew who she was...

Many years ago (not sure if it was college or Uni time) there was a late night crappy TV programme on Channel 4 called Love's Like A Dog.  The premise of the programme was a Z-List celebrity had a fictional budget with which to buy clips from foreign TV programmes to show and laugh at.  Kind of like Tarrant on TV but differs chiefly by actually being funny.  Anyway, the programme was presented by this Lauren Laverne.  Now usually my taste in women (as in famous, unattainable ones - in real life I seem to have a thing for Bass Players) doesn't really include thin, blonde "officially" attractive women but there was some kind of charisma that she had that made me think - wow.  And recently she's been on Johhny Vaughn's programme on BBC3 and I've discovered that Dan likes her too.  I was always kind of worried for liking a celebrity that nobody had heard of so never really mentioned her but now I feel that I can do that.  Just been looking on the internet for a picture of her and I've found out that she was in a band called Kenickie, she's just released a solo album and will be appearing at the Leeds and Reading festivals later this year.  I feel like I should have heard of Kenickie but if they're not a 70's, 80's or early 90's metal band then there's not much chance that I have.  I'll look into it.

That tongue thing she did on Live at Johnny's was pretty fucking sweet.
Not too many big pictures of her around so this'll have to do.
That'd better not be a bass she's holding or I'm going to start worrying...
