The Battle in two phases
The first phase: The Imperial Army attack. While the 1st Division undertake a frontal assault on 1st Corps batteries, the Volunteers and Colonel Bento Gonçalves cavalry  try the encirclement.
Second Phase: Alvear's counterattack with the 2nd and 3rd Corps. Only the center of the enemy could stand.
