Bamini
One the first attempt to type Tamil in computers based on the Tamil Typewriter key sequences. One of the most widely used Tamil typing method used so far in Sri Lanka. When it comes to encoding Bamini encoding replaces English characters with the Tamil letters which makes it hard especially where there is only one font is permitted such as Microsoft Access and also in search engines like Google. I suggest looking at the other intermediate encoding named TSCII and final UNICODE

- If you would like to type using bamini layout keyboard and would like like have out put in UNICODE have a look at PonguTamil. Inorder to work properly you should have IE 4.0 or above. Doesn't seems to be working with firefox browser.
