| Dear Alpha Lambda Delta Nominee,
Let me begin by congratulating you on your outstanding achievements this past academic year, and on your nomination to UMass Boston’s chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta. In May, A.L.D. nominees elected a group of very talented leaders. I know I speak for all of us when I say how excited we are to lead this organization, which recognizes outstanding students such as you. Four positions were elected, president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. Our vice president is a talented political science major who is also pursuing a minor in French and Italian Eleanor, Mooney. Our secretary is a motivated history major Kate Danckert: Kate was actively involved in many extracurricular activities in high school, and is glad to be serving as an officer of ALD. She is a skilled writer, which will come in handy when writing up a summary of the UMass Boston ALD's activities for publication in the organization's national magazine, The Flame. Jacqueline Kuks, a creative art student who is also majoring in nursing and volunteers often at hospitals was elected as our treasurer. As for myself in high school, I was president of two after school organizations, and most notably, I was senior class president. I am thrilled to have this opportunity before me. For this organization, I have a vision of growth and continued success. Over the coming weeks the officers and I will be meeting to come up with ways to grow our relatively new chapter of A.L.D. I am very excited to see what ideas we shall come up with. Lastly, it is my pleasure to be announcing our brand new chapter website. Be sure to visit oocities.com/umassbostonald to check out all it has to offer. This site will be an important asset to grow our chapter and also to keep our current members up to date. In the coming weeks we will be adding all our member’s names to the site. If you do not want your name on the site please e-mail us by August 18.
