This helps us keep our rattery going! Most people say well heck! I can go to a pet store and get a rat for $3-6$. But what pet stores don't guarantee is health && temperament. Our rattery takes out time to handle and care for ever rat that sets it paw in our home making sure you receive the best you can. It is worth every penny!
Environment- A cage or Aquarium. Cage must be roomy with a flat surface (meaning not fully wired top to bottom*which can cause bumble foot*). Giving the rattie a place to hide or keep warm*mainly for hairless without hair they tend to be more sensitive to weather*Hammocks are my favorite! Homemade is the best way to go.
Feed- Plenty of protein and nutrition. lettuce && fruit they always love. unsalted sunflower seeds,pasta,cheerios,dog food, ect. Or you can go to your local store && buy rat food. But recommend you feed them a little extra such as the fruit && lettuce.
Attention-Played with daily at the least. If you can get to him/her everyday it is best to have a companion. Rats are not solitary animals and love to have a partner to groom, play and sleep with!
