My 1976 Ford Maverick
My lastest project car is a 1976 Ford Maverick, like my first Maverick, it's blue, though a darker shade of blue. I was looking through a muscle car magazine one day, and low and behold there was my car!!! The ad read "1976 Ford Maverick blue with leather interior 6 cyl auto 43k miles, new battery runs great, looks great Interior in excellent condition." A day or so later, my nephew and I went and looked at it. I took my nephew cause he was working at for a body shop at the time. We went over it throughly. The only problems we could find were obvious. The right fender had a dent in it were it had been hit, the hood was buckled and the front bumper was bent. The frame, what little there is of it, was in good shape, along with the floor pans and inside the trunk. The quarters have some rust in them, but is very fixable.
On September 21,2000, I gave the lady selling the Maverick $100 to hold it for me. I was excited, finally, I was once again going to be the owner of a Maverick. Like I said before, I always knew I would own another Maverick, I never in my wildest dreams thought it would be blue, and in pretty good shape for being close to 30 years old.
On September 26, 2000, I paid the balance, had the car switched to my name and drove it home. Since driving it home, I've put front tires on it, changed the oil, and put in new spark plugs. On May 15, 2001, I ordered a carburator for it. Stay tuned for more updates
