In 1992 Mladic was promoted to Lt. General and became the head of the newly formed Bosnian Serb Army (BSA) on May 15th, 1992. In was under Gen. Mladic that the Prosavina corrider was formed linking the eastern and western sectors of Republika Srpska. This November, he was relieved of his command by President Biljana Pavsic. This was the second and final attempt that had been made to remove him. He is currently keeping a low profile surrounded by his remaining supporters. He was indicted by the Hague Warcrimes Tribunal and if caught will be on trial. He is blamed for 6,000 Muslim deaths during the war.
