Woohoo, this was one of the funnest photo shoots I've done. Parts of it were stressful, but the majority was fun. Why stressful you may wonder? (just act like you were wondering and keep reading) I've never really taken pictures of people before. I was a little spooked at the thought of working w/ a bunch of people I didn't know. It wasn't like the usual silent broken buildings and nature sites that I just work around until I find the perfect point. And of course the main difference... buildings and trees don't look at me like they want to kick my ass when I'm photographing them But yeah, it turned out to be great, it was a fun experience with fun people; the band and my loyal assistant (oh yeah) and model, Annie Davidson. You all rock. Annie's my support system, weather shes standing far away with a bad headache or not :P (next time, we'll come prepared with a headache kit).
As for the outcome, I'm a little frustrated that a lot of the pictures didn't turn out good (actually, really frustrated) but I try to brush it off and remember what my photo teacher taught me: If you can get one good picture out of a roll, then you're doing good. So, if I look at it that way, I think I did pretty good.
Doing this revived my passion for photography, I love it. I was kind of in a dry stage and needed a push. Now that I've gained a little confidence I can't wait to do more. Motivation is good. Some people help me more than they'll ever know. |
