About Undernet #acro

Acro is an interactive multi-player game bot based on the game Acrophobia, an acronym word game that was created and invented by Anthony 'Ace' Shubert and implemented by Kenrick Mock.
Our mechanical host is called acrobot, and he, (or she, no one knows), will give the room a series of letters, from 3 to 7, from which the players will create a sentence. This is done directly to the bot. I keep /msg acrobot in ccp, and drop it into the chat window at the beginning of each round. You have a theoretical 30 seconds (bot often runs slow) in which to create your sentence and submit it to the bot. The submitted acros are than displayed to the room, and you /msg acrobot with the number of the acro you are voting for. In the game you compete with other players for "bonus" points, and ultimately the "win" by reaching 30 points first.

How to play:

You will need a chat client. Personally, I use mIRC. I also understand there is a way to join the game thru the undernet site. To get mIRC, please follow this link

Where do I play?

After downloading mIRC look for the server undernet. Click on that. I would recommend you then choose the main U.S. server. Click again. When the list of rooms pops up, either choose #acro or type #acro into the room to join.

A few little incidentals:

Two points are awarded for speed (ei: the first acro submitted) These points will be lost if you do not vote.
You will lose a point if you submit an invalid acro. Don't fret this; it happens to everyone!
Changing your nick after starting play will negate your ability to vote.
No, you cannot vote for yourself, and yes, you can change your vote.
