REAL LIFE ADVENTURES
OF THE UNDERWATER STUNTMAN

Karaoke

You don't have to be a musician to sing.

Karaoke is an event that involves participants singing with a microphone, on a sound system, while background music plays and the lyrics are shown on a television screen. It is quite entertaining. Those with a voice will be cheered by the audience. Those without a voice can give it a try, there is no penalty for being off key. If you know the song, and think you can sing it, look for karaoke night in a local bar and give it your best shot.

Following Francine, my girl friend's hunch, It was on January 9, 2000 that I tried Karaoke for the first time at Brasserie de l'Ouest in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu (Quebec). Since then I have attended regularly at other places such as Brasserie du Mail Lacolle and Auberge de l'Île (now closed) in St-Paul-de-l'Île-aux-Noix.

It was on April 22, 2000 that I made my first appearance at an American karaoke. Sassy's karaoke at Pappy Jack's pub in Plattsburgh, NY, actually recorded the event, and perhaps my voice can be heard somewhere in the show. Look for My Sharona, Abracadabra, some Wierd Al Yankovic, Take It Easy and Happy Together. Perhaps someday I will have pictures and sound for your enjoyment on this web site. For now, the only way to witness this stunt is to be there "live".

Here is a list of songs I can perform on Karaoke night.
