Insomnia

There is no sleep for me
Not even daybreak can bring me
drowsiness
When does my corruption begin to
fade?
I can currently tell you
That this is no ordinary day
The clock strikes 2 a.m.
My hair is flowing down my shoulders
And my sleeping bag rolled out
My paranoia comes to get the best of
me
Every sound reverberates in my ears
Every jingle of keys
Every chirp of the cricket
Every softly shut door
And every car that passes by
All of this is true, I dare not tell a lie
Not even the ticking of a clock can
sooth me now
