Changeling: The Dreaming
"The Queen is dead,
long live the Queen!"
Game Master: Lucie Lukacovicova
The characters in this game are Changelings – faeries born in human bodies.
They are children in modern city, but they slowly discover, they see things other people don’t see. They are able to escape banal reality and move to chimerical Faerie-land.
There are six faerie Courts: Air, Water and Wood are the Seelie (“good ones”, representing the ideals of chivalry, joy and beautiful adventurous dreams), Fire, Metal and Earth are the Unseelie (“evil ones”, full of malevolence, cruelty and scorn, creatures of nightmares). Seelie and Unseelie are constantly at war. But when a Changeling is killed, he is reborn after some years, he returns in another human body. Unless he is killed by cold steel, which is the only weapon, which neither Seelie nor Unseelie would use. But from time to time, of course, somebody breaks the rules...
Game-log (in Czech) is only one part of the chronicle "Death of Beltempest"

Player Characters:
Petra Lukačovičová: Cheshire Cat, is known to everybody and some say she is absolutely insane. She has the form either of the unnaturaly widely smiling cat, or a tall unnaturally widely smiling woman with cat-like stripes on her skin. She likes to sing childish tunes, giggle when something tragic happens and let some parts of her body disappear. Usually she moves around and only her moon-like smile can be seen. She is rumoured to have been Sangwen's helper. She disappeared in the dark tunnels under the black Sleeping Mountains.
Michal "Amiboshi" Kučera: Squirrel/Alexander Squirrel, surprisingly a squirrel-pooka. He is one of the lucky few, his mother is also a Changeling and sir Sqfirrel is his grandfather, who (for unknown reasons) dislikes him deeply. Recently (also for unknown reasons) he seems to be in favor of Queen Finnwen.
Bob "Redguy" Koutský: Azul, the blue-winged Night Wanderer, who is the master of finding paths through the Faerie Land. He is quite shy, but loyal to his friends. With help of Jubjub bird he finally found his mortal father.
Petr Havlík: Wulfgar/Petr, the troll knight, strong, tall, with sense of honor. Ready to protect the weak and help those in need. In past ages the protector of Queen Finnwen. Recently his blue skin got white and the curse of the Full Moon is upon him.
Petr "Harald" Kamínek: Hanuman, four-handed monkey-pooka, who fights with four scimitars, brave and strong-willed. In his past life he fought - and died - at the side of Rani of Jhansi, the she-tiger-pooka.
David "Eob" Korejtko: Khalil, is an eshu of Arabic origin, mysterious wanderer, skilled singer and rat-catcher :) Always on a good way to find out secrets which will get him into trouble.
Heroes of past glory, "Finnwen’s Dogs":
(Chronicle: "Death of Beltempest", GM: Lucie Lukacovicova)
Andrea Moravkova: Anna-Marie Foxy/Telia, the green-haired dryad, who adores trees, wood and any living plants, skilled archer, faster in speech and deed than in thought.
Lenka Moravova: Marie-Anna Foxy/Tilia, Telia’s dryad twin-sister, calmer and more reasonable of the two. The faeric part of her soul died when trying to save her sister and the others. And life will never be the same again for the human girl called Marie-Anna...
Ctibor Petru: Patrik Jug/Sileas, a satyr, always in search for strong drink, good dance, fast music and female company. He plays a syrinx.
David Hartl: Daniel Cross/Dhar Ainul a.k.a. Blackwing, a dark-haired, dark-eyed whispering Sluagh. Despite his name he has no wings (they were torn off his back when he was killed), but he can climb the walls spider-wise.
Jakub Hruska: Thomas Cipr/Little Lion, being a fun-loving monkey-pooka, he can transform himself into a small black monkey with red and golden head and tail. That’s the origin of his faerie name. He faces the world armed with knives and unbreakable curiosity.
Lucie Lukacovicova: Sonya Indigo/Sonyadora, the tale-telling Eshu with long black hair, who wears a saree, skilfully plays a sitar and sings as angels of heaven, always wandering in search for adventure. She is rumoured to be the one who is able to hear a particular story or secret in the Cave of Ten Thousand Whispers.
Martin Zdansky: Radim Rabbit/Chorovius, the blond and green-eyed wood-elf, the Path-master of the fellowship, always on his guard.
Petr Jonak: Patrik Crha/Narya, a Salamander (“fire-spirit”) with white skin, flaming red hair, wings with all colours of the flames and a small fire burning in the place of his heart.
Petra Lukacovicova: Daniela Merglova/Sangwen, a Sylph (“wind-nymph”), the youngest daughter of Beltempest, king of Air. Strong-willed, fast with her cross-bow and a great dancer.
Non-Player Characters:
Arilin, the high-lady – she’s a wood-elf, but some say she’s got also dark-elven blood in her veins. She is stern and pale, green-eyed, black-haired, always dressed in black. She was Chorovius’ boss.
Bacchus, the knight – he is the toughest drinker, fastest runner, best dancer and drum-player among the satyrs – therefore he is their leader ;) He’s as friendly and merry as all satyrs are, but ready to fight if need would be. He was Sileas’ boss.
Badger – a badger-pooka, stout, black-eyed, with silvery-white stripes in his black hair. In the Grey world of banality his name is Zdeněk Badger. He is a merry fellow with sense of humour, a loyal friend, defender and adviser, but also a furious fighter when angered.
Brand, the minstrel – he is handsome, red-haired, dressed in green, always sitting on the steps to Finnwen's throne and playing his lute. Nobody knows his origin, but he knows the origin of many. His personal emblem is a falling star and he was Sonyadora's boss.
Croix – was a chimerical raven, whom Dolorosa gave to Blackwing as a messenger. After the announcement, that Blackwing is now more an dark-elf, than a sluagh, Croix somehow became part of Dhar Ainul - and the Changeling got his black wings again... but not for a time long enough to enjoy it.
Dolorosa, the high-lady – is a whispering, mysterious Sluagh, sister of Soledad. She was the one who looked dismayed, when the fellowship of "Finnwen's dogs" entered the throne-room, returning from the dead - at least some people say so.
Dream-masters – very little is known about them. They are a group of wizards who work with dreams and influence them. They wear long grey hooded robes and masks on their faces. Finnwen is their misstress and commander, their life and death belongs to her. With help of Finnwen they guard their secrets well.
Eddie – Blackwing's chimerical spider, was keeping his eight eyes on Marie-Anna until things went wrong, somehow... Since then there is no trace of his presence in Faerie Land. Only sluaghs dare perhaps whisper of his undoing.
Finnwen de Firebras, the queen of Wood – is a high-elf, green-eyed and golden-haired, beautiful, emotionless, distant as a goddess. She is the real ruler of Wood and sworn enemy of Unseelie. But perhaps there is something more about her than meets the eye…
Littleleaf – a young, hadnsome green-haired male-dryad, who can play the flute.
Murasaki Yoru – looks like a fragile old man with white hair and beard. He looks exactely like the type of old men which is very unwise to attack. He owns a school of martial arts in Prague, in Riegerovy Sady, where Marie Anna went every day for training in long lost, happier times.
Nimier – a young gypsy lad around nineteen years old, a little thief with a false french name, master of juggling and saloon-magic, who wears a black scarf tied in a pirate-fashion. He's Vidocq's friend and messenger. He used to be a good friend of Marie Anna too. Perhaps he was the one, who most mourned for her.
Nineril, the healer-mage – friendly and patient, he usually welcomes those, who have returned after their death. He’s a high-elf, blue-eyed and fair-haired, wearing white.
Nuada of the Silver hand, king of Wood – centuries ago the high-elf Nuada lost his hand in battle, his forearm was cut off by cold steel. The healer Dian Cecht replaced it with a silver one, which can be used as well as a hand of flesh and bone, or even better, because it can’t be destroyed so easily. Nuada is a tragic hero, silent and mysterious, who has no real power and lives in shadow of Finnwen.
Oblivia – she is a young DJ, an anarchist and a specialist for illegal parties in forsaken warehouses. Oblivia is blond haired and wears two pony-tails. She despises drugs and hates drug-dealers and she's able to deal with any problem-makers.
O'Brian, James – an irish werewolf, a galliard (minstrel) from tribe Fianna. He owns an irish pub in Holesovice, drinks a lot and (usually) doesn't kill little stupid Changelings even if they insult him ;)
Ocelot, the druid – looking as a 40 years old man, with streaks of silver in his hair and beard, his body partly covered with poison ivy, which somehow grows on him. He is a male-dryad and used to be the boss of Tilia and Telia.
Ondina – is a mysterious girl, who used to go for quests with the fellowship of Finnwen's Dogs and was killed as one of them. Strangely enough, she didn’t return. It is also unknown, why she was called Ondina (“water nymph”), when she had high-elven and wood-elven blood and was rumoured to be a bastard child of a noble, perhaps of Finnwen herself.
Rilen, the assassin – she was the dark-elven warrior-woman, whom Finnwen's Dogs kidnapped from Dark-elven City. She rather killed herself to make sure that nobody could make her reveal any of dark-elven secrets.
Who understands the ways of Unseelie...?
Reeniel, the healer-mage – also called "Thousand-miles-long Reeny" is an unusually tall high-elf. She has a beautiful, narrow face with hint of ascetism, but her height makes her ugly in the eyes of most. It is not proper for an elven lady to be tall like a troll warrior! Reeniel wears a white robe of a healer, but also a sword at her side. And there are few who would dare challenge her!
Saruman, the high-mage – is a Salamander, wearing a form of an old man with white hair and beard, his robes flaring with all colours. He is the closest adviser of Finnwen and was Narya’s boss and protector. Some called Narya mockingly “Saruman’s ring”, but they would never repeat it in Saruman’s presence. He is not very favourite among the faeries at the Court of Wood, he makes a lot of them nervous. Some time ago Arilin arrested him and accused him of Rhapsody, but she was never able to prove the crime.
Silvae, the high-mage – she’s a black-eyed, black-haired dark-elf. She is really high-ranked mage in Dark-elven City. She has her face tattooed with black ornaments, wears black robes and carries a black curved staff.
Soledad, the high-lady – a Sluagh, nicknamed Sol, the sister of Dolorosa. She’s full of melancholy and mystery, dressed in dark colours and never speaking louder than a whisper, as any other Sluagh. She is the boss of Blackwing, whom she holds dear.
Sylvara, the princess – is a dark-elven maiden, daughter of Alumhazar, king of Fire. She is black-haired, blue-eyed and she is the reason why Blackwing got into lot of trouble ;)
Sqfirrel, the knight – sir Sqfirrel is a squirrel-pooka, red-haired with glittering black eyes. Also his teeth resemble a squirrel’s. That can be noticed especially, when he speaks ;)
Vidocq – czech speaking detective with a french name. He resembles a bear very much.
Weide, Mrs. – local Prague librarian, looks around fifty years old and wears glasses, she has long brown hair, round face and calm dark eyes. She is told to have the gift of prophecy.
White Rabbit – everybody knows him ;) He is a very strange creature indeed. He usually appears from nowhere, holding his watch and yelling: "Oh, I'm late, I'm late, I'm so late! The Queen will kill me...!" Is it sure he means Finnwen?
