The meeting concluded with a brief discussion about the possible speakers/events for the coming year.  Some suggestions included: an FBI agent, attorneys (prosecution, defense, immigration), police officers, a battered women's shelter worker, a rape crisis counselor, a victims' advocate, a visiting Criminology professor, a person who works in the area of white-collar crime (toxic dumping, securities fraud, etc), and a trip to Denver, CO. for the American Society of Criminology's conference in November.  Officers will continue to explore these and other possibilities, as well as solicit suggestions from the general membership at the first club meeting.
