| Minutes of the Criminology Club - General Meeting - 9th Sept. 2003 We're entirely re-doing membership cards this year, so if you didn't fill one out or know someone who would like to be in the Crim Club this year, pleas e-mail Dr. Muzzatti. We're on the web now in many ways. Our website is up at www.oocities.org/unicrimclub and anyone who wants to contact all the members can do so by e-mailing the list serve at crim-club@uni.edu. Field Trip! We have an upcoming field trip to the Mental Health Institute in Independence on Thursday, September 25th, 2003. We'll leave UNI at 3:30 and carpool there. This trip is limited to 15 people so if you are interested please e-mail Alli right away. Volunteering / Job Openings: Interested in being a volunteer Juvenile Court Officer? Contact Kaye Haskins @ 291-2506. There is also a job opening at a day treatment center in Waterloo. If you are interested, please contact Alli. Also contact Alli if you are interested in doing a ride-along with the DOT Traffic Law Enforcement. Ideas for possible activities this year: 1. Speaker from battered women's shelter. 2. Film series with Soc/Anthro Club featuring "Bowling for Columbine" 3. New Professor Lecture Series 4. New Crim Club board on 2nd floor Sabin 5. Letters to Senators protesting the cutting of funding for social science research. (contact info forthcoming) Other Random Info: Crim Club meets every second Tuesday of the month at 5:30 in Sabin room 27. Gender Equality Association meets every Monday at 4:30 in Baker 161. Father Roy Bourgeous from the School of Americas watch will be giving a great presentation on his anti-terrorism efforts on Tuesday Sept. 16th at 7:30 pm ub Seerley 115. |
