In the early '60s, comics publisher Charlton
. put out a few movie monster titles, to cash in on the trend. Horror Monsters,
along with
Mad Monsters, had low print runs and inferior production values ( poor photo reproduction on cheap newsprint ), but had some fairly nice, colorful cover art. Sought after by collectors, but difficult to find in nice condition. Horror Monsters Presents Black Zoo (1963) told the story of the movie using photos in a comic book style ( fumetti ). Werewolves and Vampires (1962) was another Charlton one shot, this time devoted to . . . well, you already guessed it.
