The Underground Nincompoop's appearance in the world may have never occurred if not for the actions of two other newspapers.

In a high school in one of the many white suburbia cities in our nation, a newspaper using the acronym TFP was a forum for free expression among teenagers. However, some of the articles in the weekly paper and its distribution in the school caused school officials to intervene in their actions. This, however, did not deter TFP, and, in fact, made it more well-known.

A disagreement among two editors of TFP led to one branching off and making another newspaper using the acronym LW. LW began to destroy TFP in its popularity and controversy making it the premier newspaper for the school with its supposedly sarcastic articles, right-wing political views, and controversial topics that reached to principals and the school board.

Fed up with seeing a repetitive gobbledegook of articles, which in many of the students' minds were lacking humor,
The Underground Nincompoop launched itself as the brainchild of a complete idiot. Its mission was simply to be an idiotic, yet creative, humorous, and well written parody of the two other newspapers.

The Underground Nincompoop's first and only issue to date appeared on January 8, 2002.
"Yo. Kick it. Word to your
nincompoop
mother!
Few copies were made of the paper, but the damage was done. LW retaliated with their own editorial about us, while the paper was a critical success with appreciation from teachers and most students.

So, now the U.N. has faded away, only to be known as an acronym, but to be cherished with this site featuring every article from the 1st issue and some never before seen articles! History has been made (not really by us!), but maybe we will be back...only time will tell.
