Seaway Queen

Seaway Queen was built at Whyalla by BHP Ship Building Company Ltd in 1964. Initially ran between Melbourn and Hobart and later in life Sydney Hobart Melbourne along with sister ship Seaway King. Seaway King initially started out running between Sydney and Hobart. These were the first Stern door roll on roll off vessels in the company and were designed to carry the company's unitised type cargo, newsprint etc etc. In 1975 sold to Trucape Pty. Ltd., Melbourne (ASP Melbourne, Managers) Traded to and from Gove and asociated ports. Laid up in Singapore on 22 February 1979. Sold Seaways Shipping & Trading, Piraeus 1979. Resold Perkapalan Lautan Biru Sdn. Bhd., Kota Kinabalu, in 1980 and renamed 'Lautan Rani'. Sold to Chinese shipbrealers in 1985 and towed from Kota Kinabalu to Zhangjiang. Eventually broken up at Zhangjiang 21 April 1985.
