GROCERY IS READY!!! |

Grocery warehouse is ready and united for whatever it takes to win a fair contract. Some of the concerns facing the Grocery warehouse is the increase in the production standards for everyone. Since Summit Logistics took over selector standards have gone way up and the audit program is a joke. Forklifts never had standards until Summit took over and the average drops per forklift is approx. 150 let downs per day which makes for an unsafe working enviroment. After working more than 10 hrs. at such a hard pace we deserve to have a 15 min break and our production standards should be lowered. |

Together we make up an awesome workforce which is second to none. I'm sure that when the bell rings we'll come out fighting for what is fair and right. Alot is asked of us,we've seen 100's if not 1000's of people come and go through these warehouse doors. Summit/SDMI have gone through the entire valley nobody wants to work here. The working conditions in this place are terrible. The minutes are hard to make on a daily basis, but the company doesn't care the only thing they care about is the numbers. Then they have the audacity to want to put a cap on our health and welfare. We work very hard for our benefits we shouldn't have to pay for anything. All the companies proposals are about corporate greed. They want to save money off the backs of hard working people. Shame on you Summit/Safeway. |

Everyone by now should know who their strike crew captians are. If you're not sure read the board or ask your shop steward. With the possibility of a strike looming in the air we all need to be ready for the worst. We also need to attend every meeting that is given at the local. If you need directions to get there click on the show map button on the bottom of this page. It will give you a detailed map right to the union hall front door. Let's keep up the great job and stay focused and ready for whatever it will takes to secure a good contract. Together we can accomplish anything if we continue our solidarity and not waiver in anyway shape or form. |
