Norstar Applications Modules (NAMS)
Complete with all installation and programming manuals, and backed by a full one-year
warranty.
Norstar voice mail and automated attendant products can provide a range of benefits for users of Norstar
systems. The StarTalk family of voice mail units, as well as the more sophisticated Norstar Applications
Module (NAM's) were designed specifically for Norstar telephone systems and provide seamless
integration and other advantages:
Fully integrated visual display
Soft key interface (on the T7316, M7310 and M7324 phones)
"Message for you" indication
Automatic callback to internal callers
The voice messaging system on all units, when enabled, can answer all incoming calls and route those
calls to the appropriate extensions or mailboxes within the system. The voice messaging system has three
main components: Automated Attendant, Mailboxes, and Custom Call Routing (CCR).
Automated Attendant:
The Automated Attendant can be programmed to pick up immediately, or after a specified number of
rings. The auto attendant works as a receptionist would when answering incoming calls. Using a voice
prompt, it plays a list of options to a caller. The auto attendant can be interrupted by a caller at any time if
they already know which selections to press on their dial pad.
When an option has been selected, the Automated Attendant responds to the command by either
routing the call to an extension or mailbox within the system or directing the call to a company directory,
operator, or general delivery mailbox.
Mailboxes:
Mailboxes can be easily added to the system by following a simple programming procedure. This is where voice messages are stored when left by callers. Any caller,
both external and internal, can leave a message after a mailbox is initialized.
Custom Call Routing:
CCR is a single-digit access application, customizable for each business' unique needs, and provides
callers with a series of voice prompts and call transfer options. Custom Call Routing can be enabled or
disabled, and can be as simple or sophisticated as you require.
StarTalk FLASH-2
The StarTalk Flash-2 voice mail unit can start small and grow to double its capacity. It integrates
seamlessly with all the Norstar systems available that we sell. It only takes up one station port on the
Norstar system, but provides two channels of use ~ two parties can access the voice mail system
simultaneously (two outside callers, two internal users, or combination of each). By adding a firmware
chip, the unit can double in capacity, which can be of value if business growth is anticipated. Flash voice
mails operate on RAM chips or "flash" memory technology and contain no moving parts.
Storage Capacity (90) minutes - 24 mailboxes
StarTalk FLASH-4
The StarTalk Flash-4 voice mail unit is double the capacity of the Flash-2. It integrates seamlessly with all
the Norstar systems available that we sell. It takes up two station ports on the Norstar system, and
provides four channels of use ~ four parties can access the voice mail system simultaneously (four
outside callers, four internal users, or any combination of each). Flash voice mails operate on RAM chips
or "flash" memory technology and contain no moving parts.
Storage Capacity: (180) minutes - 48 mailboxes
