First question,What is uniSef?
uniSEF is one mans atempt to sound like a full on Christian punk band. I love God, I love punk music, and I wanted to try my hand at doing the whole thing from start to finish... in short, uniSEF is simply...me...making music...
When and how did it start?
When...I started doing my first recordings toward the end of 2004 with a little help from an old friend of mine (Levi Schmieg) who I had been in bands with for a long time. I eventually got my own Bass guitar and decided to try it solo.
How...I had been out of the scene for a while due to a cross country move, made numerous attempts to get a christian punk band together with no luck and finally decided to try and do it all on my own. It just seemed as though there was no one out there that wanted to play christian punk anymore, it is all emo and slop rock. It also had to do with the lack of bands out there now. When I first got into the Christain side of punk there seemed to be quite a selection to listen to. I recently went on a mad search to find some new stuff and found almost nothing, and a ton of the bands that i use to enjoy had slowly transformed into, again, emo or slop rock. So I decided to try and help fill in the gap along with some other great bands who are still rockin hard.
Are you gonna make it a full band eventualy or is it just a cd releasing thing?
I fully intend on keeping uniSEF what it is now, I really enjoy it. I just recently joined another band. it is not a punk band but it is a great group of guys who really want to use their gifts to serve the Lord, as do I, and thatll probably fill the desire to be involved in an actual band for me.
What bands influnce you?
its quite a wide range of bands, I love the old Officer Negative stuff, the first 2 or 3 One-21 albums, and old band called lugnut is sooooo fast and crazy, the deal, public unrest, the havoc. But bands that really inspire me are bands like hangnail, and the supertones, because theyre lyrics are just amazing. i would like to be able to have those types of lyrics in my stuff someday. stuff that really touches peoples hearts, stuff that really helps people through life, situations, bad days, and just helps them get back to God, because thats where we all need to be
Comparing yourself to other bands what whould you say uniSef sounds like?
every song is turning out different. Change the world is definately an officer negative type song ( i listened to the O.N. CD the other day, and one of the songs starts out just like change the world does, its almost embarassing, that was not intentional at all) my new one, turn off your radio, has a bit of an offspring sound to it maybe, just because the vocals are a little higher, but I dont know really. each song has a diffefent feel to it.
What is Strongpoint?Is it still going?
Strong Point is the last band I was in before I moved to Boise. They are all really good friends of mine and we had a good 2 and a half years playing togther all over PA, and NY. The band called it quits before I moved, and thats about it .
Why did you decied to make uniSef Christian punk rather any thing else?

What the purpose of the project?Whats the goal?
the purpose... to share God with people who wouldnt really listen to christain radio and go to church.
th goal... I think that if one person even starts to consider that they might need Jesus, the goal has been met
