Ok, so I was surfing corruptchristianity.com for sources for an upcoming paper and i came across this -

"POD is NOT a Christian band! Not only do they proclain they are not a Christian band with their own mouths, but the evedince and the fruit that surrounds them proves they're not Christian at all!"
"Speaking of popular Christian pop band, Superchic[k]- Singing of their confidence and security, and how they don't have to flaunt their bodies to be girls - they flaunt across the stage in their skimpy clothing, contradicting their message."
(I'm not a big superchick fan, but I'm pretty sure they don't "flaunt around in skimpy clothing" I have seen a few of their performances)
"And now Newsboys are multiplying themselves through their own production company: InPop Records. Producing false witnesses with such artists like Tree63, Superchic[k], and Rivertribe (an obvious new age, world band). InPops first band produced was Beanbag, an underground band they discovered who compared to Korn - the vilest of bands!"
"He (TobyMac) is more influencial and has orchestrated more behind the scenes in the name of 'Opening their minds and letting their soul (flesh) be free' in other words - take down all guards and protection and SELL YOUR SOUL TO THE DEVIL!" (emphasis added)
Alright, first of all, I would like to say DONT TRY TO INTERPRET WHAT THE ARTISTS SAYS! What he says is exactly what he meant to say. There is a huge difference between the soul and the flesh.
These are the kind of ideas that can really tick me off sometimes. These are the idea that SCARE people away from Christianity. It shows us that Christians are nothing more than Bible thumping right wing radicals that are way too judgemental! Who are you to question an induviduals walk with his Savior??? You are NOT God! Who are you to question the TRUE MOTIVES of an artist in the secular world! If you think you can do better than they can, TRY IT. It's not as easy or glamorous as everyone thinks it is. Even as tiny as my band is, we have recieved misinterpretations and critism to the point where we where called "barely Christian" once. And let me ask another question - where in God's Word does it say that it is a sin to have weird hair and go to concerts?? Show me one verse and I'll stop in my sinful ways.
Many of these articles bashed most of these bands for mingling in the world in the name of "being salt." Well, let me ask you something - when Jesus was here on earth, where did you find him? With who did he associate??? What was that? Tax collectors? Prostitutes? THE REJECTED AND SOCIAL OUTCASTS!??? And why did he do something like that? I think he summed it up pretty well when he said that those who are not sick have no need for a doctor! Shouldnt we follow the same example?? Christianity isnt a click, people! We need to be OUT THERE touching the UNTOUCHABLES! Thats one reason i can be so "stubborn" in my "punk rock" apperance. People out there need to see that they can still have crazy hair, piercings, tattoos, etc...and still be followers of Christ.
A lot of this material is offensinve to me and my culture. This material isnt helping the cause of Christ. It is sparking civil war among the ranks! Sometimes people need to look past their own personal opinions and cut straight to truth.
