Founded in the early 1980's by a loosely knit group of self-taught rare soul fanatics, United Soul Club of America is still going strong. At a time when the northern scene was dwindling in England, the American rare soul scene exploded. This was fueled by mods, skinheads, and scooter enthusiasts, and their love for the music.

Members have come and gone, but the current members remain more dedicated than ever in keeping the soul scene alive in the United States. During the late 1980's and early 1990's the club held quarterly soul nites. Since 1997 United Soul Club of America has hosted quarterly soul nites, soul alldayers, and now AMERICA'S FIRST WEEKENDER! Contrary to popular belief, the rare soul scene in America is alive and well.
