I liked the book but found it to be a slow read. It took me a little while in the beginning to get use to his style of writing. At times I found the book depressing, especially in the beginning. I almost wanted to stop reading it a couple of times but I didn't and I am glad that I finished it. Jimmy Carter really gives you a sense of what it was like to live back then. We really take all of our modern conveniences and health care for granted.
