I found it sort of funny too that there were no women in the main family. The only ones came from outside.

I was almost sure one of the Simpson gals was the boy's mother, that she'd had a fling with Eddie. But after he goes to his dad's friend and the Dr. (via the letter - post humus) tells him about his real mom...well, combined with the fact that everyone says Eddie was like an angel on Earth...well.....blew my theory.

I know every writer is supposed to observe the main rule of writing. That is to write about what you know....maybe the writer does not know about women in a family.

I thought it a shame about Annie, and so sad that there are so many children going through what she went through. You would be surprised.

I thought the ghost stuff was cool. The little girl Mary running through the woods etc...I thought it was explained OK, but could have gone into more detail about her. The story about her jerky brothers was a little contrived I thought.

I agree...no strong women until his grandpa's galpal at the end. She was cool.
