(8/10/02): FIA F3000 2003 silly season update: Zsolt Baumgartner signed for Coloni F3000 yesterday. He is the first driver confirmed for 2003. Read the press conference here at F3000.com.

(6/10/02): FIA F3000 2003 silly season update #3: Two new teams in F3000? NDS EuroBOSS squad Brand Motorsports are aiming to enter two teams in 2003, with each team running under their own title sponsor. We hope to hear further news over the next six weeks. News thanks to Brand Motorsport's Martin Kendrick, who races this ex-Formula Nippon Reynard 97D-Judd in the EuroBOSS series.

(6/10/02): FIA F3000 2003 silly season update #2: The teams that Baumgartner is linked too are in fact Coloni, Arden and Astromega. There is apparently no contact with Super Nova. Astromega made contact with Zsolt after the A1-Ring round, while Arden and Coloni did during the second half of the season. Correction with thanks to Martin Fjord. Also, Baumgartner's Coloni test will now start tomorrow at 11am.

(6/10/02): FIA F3000 2003 silly season update #1: Bertram Schäfer Racing will definitely not buy the Red Bull Junior/RSM Marko team, team boss Schäfer has been quoted as saying (source: German F3).

(6/10/02): Euro 3000 2003 silly season: Joao Paulo de Oliveira is looking for a Euro 3000 ride (source: German F3). He's already tested for Euro Nova. The Euro 3000 silly season page will be added once this year's series is over.

(5/10/02): FIA F3000 2003 silly season page updated: Zsolt Baumgartner to test for Coloni at Hungaroring next Tues/Weds (source: F3000.com / a5.hu), and might also test for them in official October tests. He is expected to leave Nordic and could race for Coloni, Arden or Super Nova in 2003.

(25/9/02 - 5/10/02): Up-to-date results tables for FIA F3000 & Euro 3000 added. See here for more on these updates.

(5/10/02): Bourdais & Arden titles confirmed; Pizzonia thrown out of round 12... The results table for 2002 has again been amended, following a decision by the FIA's International Court of Appeal yesterday. Antonio Pizzonia (Petrobras Jr) lost his second place from the final round, dropping him from 5th to 8th in the overall standings. Pizzonia's car was found to be illegal as the team attached the rear-wing element upside-down to reduce aerodynamic drag. A protest against the cars of Arden International was rejected, meaning that Arden secures its Teams title. As a result Sebastien Bourdais is finally confirmed as champion. With drivers promoted up one position in the Monza race results, Zsolt Baumgartner has scored his first ever point, the first of the year for Nordic Racing.

(3/10/02): Enge stripped of FIA F3000 title, but it's still not decided... After failing a dope test at round 10 in Hungary, Tomas Enge (Arden) was stripped of the 10 points he took for winning that round in an FIA hearing on Tuesday. As a result, Sebastien Bourdais (Super Nova) is the provisional champion. The results table for 2002 has been amended, with updated Hungary final classifications and updated final points. Bourdais could yet be stripped of his inherited title. Another FIA hearing today is set to decide whether the decision to reject Coloni's protest against the cars of Wirdheim, Enge and Pizzonia in round 12 will stand. If Coloni's appeal against the decision is successful, the resulting points will mean that their driver, Giorgio Pantano, will be crowned champion. He has already been promoted to 2nd in the standings above Enge. Pantano's teammate Enrico Toccacelo also benefits from Enge's exclusion from Hungary, as by default he takes the 10 points and his first ever F3000 win. Enge has also been given a suspended 12-month ban from racing, which would come into force should he fail another random drugs test in the next 12 months.
