-No audition was necessary for singer Marlene Danielle, heard on the album's
"The Prince Of Peace" highlight track. A cast member in the Broadway
production of Cats since its opening, Danielle (known for her performance of
"Macavity: The Mystery Cat") first caught O'Neill's attention when he saw her
at the Winter Garden Theatre back in 1983. "With all that talent on the stage,
she stood out," says O'Neill. "She has so much charisma and such great depth
and emotion in her voice. Back then, I remember thinking, 'One day I'm going
to write a song for her and I'm going to put it on a record.' But I never got the
opportunity. When it came time to write this album, I thought of Marlene again
and I wrote 'The Prince Of Peace.' Of course she sang it perfectly... it was
written for her."-
