On this Christmas day

Natasha Newbury always cherishes Christmas Time
with the tradition and celebration that surrounds it.
Natasha - which means "Little One Born on Christmas"
- was in fact born on Christmas Day, 1990.

Natasha has become a huge TSO fan and Christmas
Eve / Sarajevo 12/24 became her favorite song and has
gotten a lot of airtime on the Newbury Music Network.
The first time we saw TSO was for 2 shows in
Christmas 2001. Natasha took up figure skating lessons
soon after and learned that she could pick her own
music for the Des Moines Figure Skating Club's annual
Christmas Gala. There was no hesitation - it was to be
Christmas Eve / Sarajevo 12/24.

We were going to a couple of TSO Shows in 2002
right before her Sarajevo performance so we took one
of her competition photos to the first TSO Show of the
year in Minneapolis to have the performers sign it at the
Meet-N-Greet afterwards. Natasha was desperately
hoping Paul O'Neill would be there, also, and possibly
Natasha and Coach Emilie
meet him. Well, Christmas came early that year for Natasha because she flagged Paul down
right before the Show and showed him the photo. Paul was extremely gracious and wrote a nice
note on the Photo - then to Natasha's astonishment Paul gave her an 1888 silver dollar and told
her it was for good luck while she skated!

Not having a lot of places to put a
silver dollar during skating, she
tucked it along side her ankle in her
skating performance to Sarajevo. She
has yet to skate in a competition or a
performance without that silver dollar
tucked snuggly in her skate. This
upcoming Christmas she has chosen
"This Christmas Day" to skate to -
and you can be sure that silver dollar
will be secured safely in her skate.

Paul O'Neill I'm not...
but it comes from the heart:

I remember it well,
Like it was yesterday.
The year was 1990,
And it was Christmas Day...
"Honey, wake up,
It's time to go".
I looked at her beautiful face,
It had a magical glow.
I glanced at the wall,
Looking for the time,
But all I could see
Was Brandi's wonderful shine.
I finally took note
That on this Christmas Day
It was 4 in the morning
And it was time to pray.
We loaded up the Mustang,
Up the winding hill we did drift,
To Lake Arrowhead,
To pick up the Lord's gift.
It was a long day,
And Brandi was quite worn,
But at 2:17,
our Angel was born.
She came into our world
Three weeks too early,
But we figured it was the Lord's plan
And wanted it to be.
So we gave her a name
That was fitting of the day:
Natasha - which means
Little one born on Christmas Day.
I think back to the years
And all I can do is smile.
The love, the laughter, the tears,
They would stretch for miles.
Now this beautiful Angel,
Who was sent from Heaven,
Is no longer a little girl,
For today she is no longer eleven.
She is the soul of my existence,
The love of my life,
I love her dearly,
As I do my wife.
May the Lord smile down
And hug her and bless her -
As he has done in the past -
On this special day
And every day forward.

Happy Birthday and Merry
Christmas, Natasha Jade Newbury,

Daddy.
