More peace talks for Central Sulawesi
Indonesia's top welfare minister, Yusuf Kalla, has visited the restive province of Central
Sulawesi to observe the situation and hold a second round of peace talks after recent
sectarian violence.
Mr Kalla arrived with a 50-strong delegation at the airport in Palu, the capital of Central
Sulawesi, on a special flight.
The minister then travelled to the main town of Poso in the district of the same name
which has seen more than two years of intermittent sectarian clashes between
Muslims and Christians.
The state Antara newsagency says the government has invited participants of peace
talks held last December to reconvene for further dialogue to end more than two years
of violence.
In the latest violence last week, gunmen sprayed a bus with bullets, killing an Italian
tourist and wounding four Indonesians.
