To celebrate all the success we had in our club over our first year and a half, on June 12 -13, 2004, we rented a house at Lake Tahoe and spent the weekend at the Lake, playing frisbee on the beach, foosball and pool in the house, and relaxing in the hot tub.

Our club hosted a cookout for the community on April 4, 2004 at Canyon Creek Park. We sold tickets for $10 and had over 100 people in attendance to celebrate "Seensdebedar", a Persian festivity held two weeks after "Norooz", the Persian New Year. We cooked chelo kabob and served three different salads along with drinks, and for dessert we served choulezard. Our goal was to raise $500 and we well exceeded that amount, reaching $1,056! Several days later we donated $500 of the money we raised to the victims from the Bam, Iran earthquake ($250 to ERFO and $250 to Relief International). Some of the guests in attendance enjoyed the event so much, they asked that we do several times a semester.

On November 16, 2003 our club hosted our very first cookout for the community. It was held at Canyon Creek Park and tickets were sold for $7. We cooked chelo kabob, salad, drinks and dessert while the 65+ people in attendance enjoyed the park with games of soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Our goal was to raise $300 and we ended up raising $574! With the money we raised, the club voted to donate $200 to the Bam, Iran earthquake victims. The guests in attendance were so pleased with the event, they told us to raise our prices and gave us considerable donations.

On April 2nd, 2004 the International Club hosted the annual Night of All Nations celebration. The Persian Club attended the event representing Iran. We handed out snacks and desserts such as choulezard and pistachios and told some of the 3,000 people in attendance about our club and culture. One of our members, Anissa, also participated in the dancing festivities by doing Persian dance .

During our first semester and first summer of existence, we had three cookouts held for club members only. Two of them were pot-luck style held at Caughlin Ranch Park, and the third was held at Anissa's house where club funds were used to cook chelo kabob. It was fun and good practice for the community cookouts we would soon be holding.
