Sebastian Siegel's Bio

(from International Male)

ROOTS

Sebastian was born in Oxford, England, but only stayed there a few years before moving to Hawaii. There, he spent summers kayaking, surfing, jumping from waterfalls and… studying theatre, "I fell into it as a child. Discovering this venue to explore and express emotion became therapeutic and extremely gratifying."

SCHOOLING

He attended school in Texas and then Connecticut, where he excelled in strong theatre programs. "I wanted to become a psychologist, but constantly found myself devoting more time to scenes and plays." He then headed for the University of Hawaii, where his father is a professor of comparative religions (and author recently nominated for a Pulitzer.) There he continued studying theatre and began working as an actor.

CAREER

Sebastian came to Los Angeles to shoot a pilot (cast in Hawaii) and worked writing storylines for television at a production company in Bel Air. When he arrived in Los Angeles, he had long hair – half way down his back. Immediately after he cut his hair, the call to do print modeling came. He's appeared on the covers of over a dozen national magazines and catalogs, on underwear box covers and billboards and recently in GQ, Vogue, and InStyle. As an actor he just worked on an indie short for the Cannes Film Festival, directed by Doug Lyman (The Bourne Identity, Swingers.) He’s also been seen in Roswell, Baywatch Hawaii, The Amanda Show, Larceny and the soap Passions and in several national commercials. Sebastian has also written a treatment for a thriller in which he'll play the lead role.

INDULGENCES

"I stay in shape with high-intensity activities – boxing, hiking and no rest. For me, it's not exercise - it's exorcise." Sebastian keeps up the pace because, as he says, "I can’t ever get enough, I’m very, very gluttonous." He doesn't own a TV, but instead, loves to read. A few of his favorites include Kahlil Gibran, Bernie Segal, Lee Siegel, Norman Cousins, Deepak Chopra, Gary Zukav and Alexander Lowen. When asked what the future holds for him, Sebastian says, "Growth, excitement, perserverance and limitless possibilities."
