This event, is not just about Untamed Vessels, it also include "The Cross" as well as a group of talented song writters and performers from Christ Lutheran Church(CLC), Melanie Pa, she has been writting songs for CLC couple of years back.
All 3 bands have been practicing and preparing for this event the past months, the waiting is over, and the concert started at 8.00pm. We had guests from around Klang Valley. After a brief welcome and introduction by Philip Tan, the event started with Pastor Sivin Kit (BLC) and his team, he tought us an African song, and another wonderful worship song that open the heart of many who steped in to the buiding, and the song just touched us, comfort us and a great night is on it's way. God is working in our hearts.
"The Cross" took the stage after that, their songs captured the audience attention and it was just a fine performance from Yi Hong, Paul Chuah, Winson and the rest of the band member just did it so well. From Accoustic, to Pop Rock Style, Fussion, they did it all. What a wonderfull performance.
The next performer is Joseph Ngu & Melanie Pa, this couple have been serving in CLC faithfully, with their faith going stronger and higher. All 3 songs are composed by Melanie Pa, and one of those, a champion song in National song writting competitions they'd participated in May 2004. Their songs goes from Disco beat style to Pop ballad, and Joseph's singing just so superb!!! Oh, he was a professionally trained "Boy Band" lead singer before, by named called "E-Male"
Untamed Vessels took over the stage thereafter, lead by Hanry and Philip both playing guitar, with Grace on Piano/keyboards, Jason Wong on Drum and Daniel Wong on bass, we started with songs from EP. "The One I love", "Teach Us How To Live", both are Punk Rock Style songs. The song "Walk Your Way" might seems break the flow of a "Punky Rock concert", but it helps to slow thing down and it was a nice fit into the whole setting, proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the only way and we as His follower shall all walk His way. When It was time to reflect, to worship God, "Lord of My Life" a powerful slow rock leads the whole crowd into worship the Lord of lords and King of kings. Follow by another soul searching songs by Philip, it is "Deepest Cry of My Heart" it stirs our emotion in deed. Is was excited and fun after all, ended with another energy filled Rap songs, not really rap actually, it is more like P.O.D. type of Rap + Rock, it tells about "His Story".
It doesn't sounds ending, officially ended but fellowship started, all brothers and sisters gather for resheshment, sharings, it was just joy and grateful heart that we saw in each and every participants, audience, worshipers, indeed we are expecting these kind of event again in the near future.
It might be a good start for Untamed Vessels, but I think it is also a good start for all local song writers, composers. Hope to see all of you again. God bless you!!!
