In a Youth Camp organised by Bahau Chinese Methodist Church in May 1993, I was still a 14 years old boy. From a so called "Christian Family", I have all the background but lifestyle of a Christian. I started to asked myself who am I, why am I here, what should I do to live a life that is Christ centered. I got the answer through the camp and the theme speaker. Towards the end of the camp, I was being prayed for, and out of my surprise, the speaker prophetically prayed for me, pray for my ministry!!!??? I know my life is in God's hand. Later, the pastor told me that God will surely prepare me, use me, if I make the decission to follow after Him and serve Him faithfully. "The time will come....10 years?? perhaps, God will surely guide you, equip you and provide all your need." I can never forget what he told me, it stirs my heart for more than 10 years indeed. After my Form 5,....A-level....college.....I still remember the calling...it is during the Christian Fellowship Camp during my college time reminded me once again, another man of God spoke to me the same prophecy...."Remember My calling, My child?" Oh yeah...10 years is coming to an end....then, to serve in Worship & music ministry never got out of my mind. God does remind me in a special way. I was soon to join a church in Kuala Lumpur and the Worship and Art Ministry, serve not only that but also a Care Group leader for Campus Youth Group, by name called "Flames" From here, the Untamed Vessels story shall begin..... In Flames CG, I met Philip Tan, not that I don't know him before that, I'd met him couple of years back when I started to attend Christ Lutheran Church in the year 1998. We've been serving together in the same church for couple of years. But never know him personally until he joined Campus Youth Care Group in 2002. It was in year 2002, we shared about our vision for God's ministry, His calling in our life, what we planned to do to fulfill His calling....it just went well and we shared our heart out....finally, we decided to get more young people who is musically talented, and have a strong desire to serve, and join us in this ministry, reach out to more youth that need Christ's touch in their life. Especially youth in small town, to raise more youth to rise up and serve Him in their community with their voice and lifestyle. But things doesn't go our way, getting committed youth is a challenge for us, it makes me grow along the way, makes me understand a lot. I'm glad that I can hold on and go through all these situations and it definetely helps me to root my faith stronger and pray even harder. For I know, this is not theological reflection, but a direct calling from God, who has grant me vision and strength to do all these. Untamed Vessels just started the journey in 2004, I really pray that God will continue to guide us, teach us, and more importantly keep our faith as where we started.
