11 December, 2006 Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and all around happy holidays to all. This page will be taking on a monthly newsletter function, though there are times when I wonder if I'll have anything anybody will want to hear. Then again, there will be times when I natter on about obscure forms of Italian medieval theatre, so I think it balances out. Christmas has been my favorite time of year since I was a wee little sprite, and this year is no different, even if it's, well, different. Rheuben and I plan to decorate the kissing bough this week -- we do have a mini tree, to suit our mini-apartment, but can't shake the love of the big shiny ornaments. So, we have a bough over the double window in the bedroom. We already have a gorgeous lighted wreath up in the middle and the rest goes on the next evening we're both home and both awake at the same time. Christmas dinner will be Chinese this year, a tradition with us, a visit with my Dad and Aunt Lola, and who knows what else? Hopefully I'll actually do the scrapbooking I intend to do to document the holiday this year. Aside from family and holiday things, I'm putting shoulder to the wheel and throwing myself into a couple of historical romance manuscripts I love. February will be a first for me -- I've been invited to a friend's book club as a guest, since Februrary's book is...gulp...My Outcast Heart! This will be the first historical romance and/or the first e-book for several of the group's members, so I'm both nervous and excited. But more on that later. For this month, I'm interested in knowing what you would like to see in an author newsletter. Drop me a line at AnnaCBowling@gmail.com if you have questions or suggestions. Until then, there are no calories in eggnog if you drink it with friends, and e-books make great holiday gifts! Anna |
