Club Message Board and Commitee Area Launched! |
We now have our own club message board, thanks to VoyForums. Please make full use of it to post infomation that needs to be shared between members, match results, other arrangements and suggestions for the site. If you are not a member, you can also post enquiries on our board, and we will get back to you - it would be great to hear from some of you freshers out there! Please do not abuse the message board, it will be very useful so long as we are able to maintain it in good working order. We also now have a secure comittee area, accessed below. 2003-2004 season beckons |
A new year at university, a new hockey season. With the club having finished last year in very good shape (both on the pitch and off it), this year promises better still. All five of our squads are in competative BUSA leagues, and they all have their own objectives for the year. Will the 1st's win again? Are the 2nd's or 3rd's going to secure promotion this year? Will the 4th's drag themselves back from last years relegation? Can the 5th's survive after their promotion? In the MRHA leagues we will again be fielding the top 4 squads on Saterdays, and they will all hopefully produce another year of solid performances against the hockey clubs of the Midlands - especially against arch rivals Beeston Hockey Club! With nine competative matches a week, the joys of a new AU club night, our own socials, a bit of flirting (and probably more) with the Ladies Hockey Club, the local derby against Nottingham Trent 'University', and our annual tour to look forward to prospects are for a fantastic year! Hello and welcome Freshers of 2003! |
As with every year, we are looking forward to another crop of (hopefully) talented freshers joining the university. The club will have a stall along with all the other AU clubs at Freshers fair, and will be holding trials shortly afterward - probably split across two or three days during the afternoons, in order to accomodate all the squads, and anyone who has clashes with university registration etc. Until then, please feel free to browse our newly updated website, hopefully it will give you a good idea of what the club is like, and answer any questions you might have - if it doesn't, please feel free to get in contact via the 'Contacts' page, or to post a message on the club's new message board. Those of you who remember this site from last year will have noticed a few changes around the site. As well as our new, hopefully more memorable address and streamlined layout, a number of other new and upgraded features have been added. These include: - The club message board - A set of online teamsheets - Secure areas for the commitee - A few boring technical bits - More links, provision for a (small) photoboard... - And lots more! Sadly we have not yet got an ad-free site, this is something to be discussed at the first commitee meeting. For a very small fee we will be able to upgrade to an ad-free site with even more toys for us to play with, more space for photos and everything else. It is also possible that we get free hosting on the SU server, although this is not my favoured option, as it would mean a re-build from scratch, and we haven't got the time! Sat 30th August '03 Any suggestions and so forth feel free to e-mail the editors at evywacd@nottingham.ac.uk |
